Espercorp: Revealing the Unreal

Espercorp is a company changing the way people think. We’re a team of doctors, engineers, scientists, street-artists, and various relatives of the aforementioned that have stumbled upon an parallel reality composed of the thoughts and feelings of this great planet’s inhabitants.

Within it are creatures born of thought and mind, reflections of the everyday happenings of the world.

Winglet, the Flying Pig

Mandra, the Fire Salamander

Roc, Bird of Birds

Kukay, the Lightning Bug

These ‘Espers‘ are animals made of pure Mental Energy. They’re not bound by the physical laws of this world, but rather the limits of our collective imagination. All the legends and stories and ideas ever conceived over the History of Mankind are manifested as energy in the Spirit World, know as the Thymosphere. In this invisible, everpresent layer of thought and emotion, ideas truly have power.

Espercorp has worked secretly for years to develop the impossible technology that would bring this discovery to the world.  Through the wonders of the modern modern age, that dream is now a reality.

Geomon is a free-to-download app for the iPod and iPhone that can detect and communicate with this parallel world! Anyone, young or old, can discover and bond with Espers that exist in their individual location. Espercorp hopes that through this wonder of modern technology we can collectively research this new plane of existence  faster and more thoroughly than ever though possible.

Meet the Team

Dr. Cornelius Rhine founded Espercorp in 2010. But he didn’t discover the Thymosphere alone. Here’s the team that helps make Geomon a reality:

Dr. Cornelius Rhine - Founder, Chief Spectrologist

A world-renowned Physicist and former Professor at Stanford University, where he spent over a decade studying the effects of extrasensory events. His landmark experiments led to the discovery of Espers and the Thymosphere. The scientific community has yet to acknowledge the validity of these claims, leading to the vandalism of his reputation and character. Despite this, Dr. Rhine founded Espercorp as an independent research company for exploring the Spirit World.

Cornelius Rhine was born the fourth of five children to a modest home in Eugene, Oregon. He and his wife Bella (deceased) had one daughter, who also works at Espercorp headquarters.

Dr. Angelica Liu – Head of Field Operations

After recieving her Ph.D in Zoology from Oxford University, Angelica Liu returned to her home state of California to work at the San Diego Wild Animal Park. She quickly made a name for herself there for her impeccable field work and proactive work in ecological restoration.

Liu’s discipline is tempered only by her love of nature, making her the perfect Director of Field Operations here at Espercorp. Ensnared by the allure of a new worldwide wilderness to explore, Angelica Liu is a welcome addition to the team, bringing strong organization to the Field Agent community. While normally found in the Control Room monitoring Field Missions, she is making an effort to go on missions herself so as to ‘stay in the game.’

Dr. James Alister – Deputy Spectrologist

Dr. Alister achieved his Ph.D in Condensed Matter Physics studying under Dr. Rhine. His dissertation on the applications and monetary benefits of government requisitioned nuclear energy plants was both hailed and disparaged for its advocacy of efficiency over individuality.

Dr. Alister serves as Deputy Spectrologist researching Esper energetic capability and communication. As co-developer of the ANCHOR device his time is split between experimenting in the lab and trying to keep up with Scott McDouglas’ tech updates. Currently he is cataloguing Esper potential energy. He believes that with enough concentration, Espers could be capable of affecting the physical world.

Dr. Mark Nielson – Deputy Spectrologist

Mark Nielson joined the research program that would become Espercorp in the third year of his Ph.D. program, drawn in by Dr. Rhine’s enthusiasm and frenetic genius. He earned his doctorate in cell and molecular biology while continuing to research the Thymosphere.

As Deputy Spectrologist Dr. Nielson researches Esper instance generation and Thymospheric ecosystems. He prefers to study Espers in their natural habitat, holding that their behavior is fundamentally different in the wild.

Scott McDouglas – Chief Engineer

Scotty McDouglas dropped out of his doctorate program , but everyone calls him ‘Dr.’ anyways. Within days of being introduced to the Thymosphere he had already conceived a way to transmit information wirelessly through resonance-networked crystals. It was his genius that led to the development of the ANCHOR device that currently links all Geomon Agents together.

Most of Scotty’s time is spent in the Server room with ANCHOR, adjusting calibrations and, in his own words, ‘making sure everything doesn’t blow up.’  In order to combat the loneliness of confined space, he’s taken to training a Mozzy named Bart as a pet and lab assistant.

Cassandra Rhine – Esper Behaviorist

As the daughter of a single father discovering a parallel dimension, Cassandra was from an early age surrounded by all matter of scientific apparati. She spent much of her time handing around the lab, and thus feels intimately connected to the discovery of the Thymosphere. After earning a Masters Degree in Psychology Cassandra decided become the world’s first Esper Behaviorist.

Cassie keeps track of all Field Agent Vaults, and maintains the various Espercorp habitats at Espercorp. She describes the job as ‘part veterinary clinic, part psych ward’. Her Esper communication skills are unmatched by anyone else at Espercorp and she is frequently consulted for diagnoses.

Robert Horowitz – Chief Financial Officer

Though it took some work, as soon as Robert Horowitz was convinced of the existence of Espers he immediately saw their financial potential. As an economist living by-the-books and drowning in paperwork, he was more than happy to join the exciting start-up environment of Espercorp. He knows it’s only a matter of time before Espercorp becomes a booming success. Esper scanners, Esper plush toys, Media tie-ins; Robert Horowitz sees it all, and has made it his personal mission to bring Espers to the people of the world. As soon as they realize they’re there. Anytime now.

Dr. Harold Jones – Head Field Agent

Dr. Jones has had a long and colorful road to his current position as Head Field Agent of Espercorp. The son of American diplomats, he spent his childhood at international schools around the world. After University he was recruited by the CIA and spent years doing things he’s not at liberty to disclose. He retired at age 40 to relax, but fate had other plans.

Henry’s yacht was hit by a massive storm while Marlin-fishing, and he was forced to abandon ship. He swam to the nearest skiff, operated by none other than Drs. Rhine and Alister, who were investigating the influx of Skywhal during the storm. Sure they had been sent to give his life new purpose, Agent Jones has brought his experience and skills to Espercorp, exploring the Thymosphere far and wide across the globe.

Aurora Phillips – Artistic Director

Aurora,  who directs the artistic renderings of all Espers as they are discovered, has an interesting past. She dropped out of art school to travel up the California coast, selling surreal renderings of animals on street corners. Dr. Rhine passed her by one day and stopped short, stunned. Her art was exactly how he envisioned Espers. He offered her a job on the spot.

Since joining Espercorp, Aurora can be found in a smock, covered in paint and clay. She designs every Esper organically before conceding to the computer. Whatever the medium, her art breather palpable life into otherwise intangible Espers. And everyone appreciates teh  mosaics and sculptures that regularly pop up around the complex.

Rusty Nickel – Intern

Rusty is the newest addition to the Espercorp family, and here is his bio. He has a degree in computer science and loves reading science fiction, and playing video games. After graduation his parents tried to force him to get a job, but most companies didn’t understand his genius/were boring.

Anyways, Rusty’s uncle, seeing that Rusty’s talent was in need of a challenging work environment, put him in contact with his old colleague, the great Cornelius Rhine. With a bit of prodding, Rhine was convinced to let Rusty come work at Espercorp, helping to discover crazy new science! Also he maintains the website, is unpaid, and has promised not to destroy any important research– and so far he totally hasn’t.
